Yet another clutch question

Car is an '06 C4S w/51K miles. Recently started getting the pedal squeak courtesy of the bushing it rides on - depress & squeak. Last night things changed. Driving home from dinner the pedal started to feel like it was binding in the second half of travel - from depress to first half it was all good, second half not so much, felt like an old cable-based clutch when it starts to bind in the housing. No bad noises, no slippage - just binding. Went straight to the house, parked and shut it down. With engine off, depressed the pedal a couple of times - silent (aside from bushing squeak) the first two presses, third press I started hearing noise from the back end: drawn out squeak like hinges on an old door. This morning tried the same thing w/engine off - first four presses bushing squeak only, following pushes got the noise going from the backend. Thoughts?

The car is a daily driver (12-15K/yr) so it's not garage queen syndrome. Only things that've happened in that area - slave was replaced in April (sticking pedal issue), had the 2nd gear syncro snap last September, dealer replaced the 1/2 gear cluster and associated bits, all under warranty. At that time the clutch and pressure plate were given a clean bill of health so I passed on replacing. If I'd had the coin I would've replaced them out of hand...

Answering my own question as I get slippage on the way up my hill ... Guess I now know what the death knell of a 997.1 clutch feels like ...

It could be the death of the clutch....In any case it needs a good once over to get past the squeaking and pedal binding. You could have a clutch fork or pivot point lube issue. Maybe that is all it is...

That'd be nice but with the increased slippage I'm not holding my breath... Limping to the dealer today
