Be careful. Whomever said "zero chance" of paint damage is mistaken. 60% of my GT3 was covered in clear stone guard material when I bought. Most of it came off clean with a heat gun. Less of it ripped off not only the clear coat, but also the base coat down to the bare metal. And before you ask "was that area repainted?"-the answer was/is no.

Like I said, it was a spot, but unfortunately I needed a partial respray due to damage removing it.

Apparently, the body shop said they've seen it happen several times.

And that is why I vinyl'd over the original stone guards....also debating whether I will put a clear bra on my new Aero bumper. $500 is the cheapest quote for clear bra....respray is $250!

Then there was a quality issue with the paint. There may have been some contamination or it wasnt properly prepped. Film should not lift factory paint ever.
