need mounts

Where's the best place online to buy engine mounts and manual tranny mount?

Also, what are the aftermarket choices people are using?

i went with the semi-solid wevo mounts and couldn't be happier. priced right, easy DIY and really tightened up the rear end during heavy throttle gear changes.

I don't track this car at all, so will the wevo mounts make much of a difference on the street, or would I just be picking up more noise and vibration?

Which brings the question: why to you want to upgrade the engine mounts in the first place?

To my knowledge, there is Wevo and Torque Solution that make semi-solid mounts for the 997. Rennline makes solid ones.

I have the Wevo's and I am very happy with them. I feel a difference on the track and I actually like the fact that the car has a little bit more noise and vibration; it makes it "feel" more like a sports car.

My understanding is that pretty much any engine mount that will improve the handling by being stiffer, will also give you somewhat more noise and vibration. Wevo's are semi-solid so they are not as obnoxious as racing solid engine mounts.

The exception to the above probably would be Porsche's OE Dynamic Engine Mounts that showed up on some of the latest cars but that is a whole other ballgame...

Hope this helps,

T.

I am not upgrading the mounts...the old ones are just worn out.

As far as the track goes, I've got something else that handles a lot better than a 911 on a tight road course and costs a lot less to run on a regular basis...tires, brakes, fluids, shock rebuilds, etc. are a fraction of what you'll pay to track a 911.

Can't beat the bang for the buck you get from a 2,000 lb. mid engine, supercharged go kart
