In the 997 Club - New C4S

So after much labor of deciding whether or not I could switch from my Turbo (996TT) to a standard P-Car I pulled the trigger and I have to say I am extremely happy with this decision.

She's a pretty hard loaded car with almost every option. It was also a tremendous struggle to own anything but a stick shift but this PDK is so amazing. 'Nuf said.

Only mods planned are pretty simple. Wheels, some cosmetic stuff such as clear markers, silver crest and tint. Not sure I want to do exhaust with it being a cab. Then I am just going to drive and have fun (mostly with the top down).

Very nice car! Congrats on your purchase.

May I ask why you chose the C4S instead of the Turbo?

I was really enjoying my Turbo but that car is such a handful you really have to be on your game to "enjoy" driving that car. It was almost stressful at times since I like to occasionally take the P-Car on the week days instead of my BMW. Again, don't get me wrong, when I wanted to have FUN, the Turbo was loads of fun. But mostly by the blistering acceleration and at "higher" speeds. Much harder to predict and manage the boost in turns and freeway on ramps. I can drive but I am no professional. Said and done.

This C4S has awesome acceleration with 385hp. The PDK is as smooth as any automatic transmission in standard mode. "Sport" mode is aggressive but "Sport Plus" is where the fun is at. This thing shifts HARD and holds the gears like no other. As the tech said who PDI'd the vehicle and gave me the low down, it basically puts the car in to "track" mode. It is unbelievable how it handles with its seamless acceleration through the gears. Sounds like a F1 Formula car through all the shifts. And the suspension tightens up so firm that it sticks like a slot car. I am having way more fun around the clock than I ever had in my Turbo.

Will do. I have never owned an automatic transmission sports car so this is a first. As soon as I put a couple thousand of "fun" miles on her I will report back. So far it has been the highlight of any day to sit behind the wheel of this machine and just drive!
