997.1 Front Lip 2008 CS

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a "straight fit" front lip for the standard bumper. I have had a look at a few but most of them you either need a GT2 or GT3 front bumper, anyone have something that they've fitted to the stock bumper??

Thanks

Tex911,

Thank you for the compliment. It's a Misha customed made spoiler, based off the GT3 boot. Contact Mike @ Misha (Forum sponsor) as they have the original mold that this came from.

They shipped it in a not too big box, so it was wrapped on itself a few times to get it to fit. I had to lay it in the sun and on the garage floor with some heavy paint cans sitting on the inside lip for several days to get it to straighten out. Not a big deal, all told.

I had been planning to use it unfinished black polyurethane, but the finish isn't nice enough to do so. It definitely has to be painted unless you're planning to track it and look is unimportant because it'll get beat up anyway.

I'm figuring out how to spray it black, exactly what finish (flat/semi-, satin) looks best and what will stick to polyurethane.

Ideas?

Thx.

What does this chin (FVD) do to the clearance?

Almost nothing; just the thickness of the poly, so 1/2", max. I bought it because of clearance issues causing stock lip to get scraped by valets, etc. However, the lip does protrude out forward a couple of inches, so it could impact your angle of attack, I suppose.

I already had issues backing out of my driveway, and this appears negligibly different, just designed to take a little abuse in lieu of my painted stock bumper lip...

HI All,

I have also ordered one together with a tail lip (FVD) from Frank @ Orange Tuning, now the waiting game - I was thinking along the Carbon Fibre Film wrap as a finish - not sure how it's gonna go, will let you know once I receive them, I ordered from Frank cos there was a whole shipment of goodies from various suppliers, including a set fo TechArt Formula 1 rims, so rather than deal with all these different people I have found Frank to be a GREAT help, sourcing the products for him was NO issue at all, thanks Frank!!

Check with Ray at Rottec. Their lips are good and ship world wide. Search the forum.

Just saw a lip at GT3 Tek for a Stock bumper http://www.gt3tek.com/products/997lip.htm

Their quality is excellent. In fact it look like FVD is reselling GT3 Tek's. Same picture on FVD's site.

Since I'm not painiting my lip so it can absorb some abuse in/out of driveways, etc, the as-delivered raw black was unuseable. Finally settled on plasti dip, spray, looks SUPER. Essentially matches the texture of the black rock guards we have in the back. Will see how it holds up and post pics once installed.
