Thanks,, a quick question.. I m about 1K miles from home and after 250 miles I noticed the coolant down about 1/4 inch below the min mark. I assume it was full as it was a CPO car. I texted the dealer and he said add water. What??? I have the car two days. I ll wait till day light and see if the cap may have the leak. Nothing else to report. I read the posts on cooant leaks already.

I don't know if the 997.2's came with the newer coolant cap. Older caps seem to leak a little. Check out this post...

Hi! Gorgeous car and hearty congrats. When I drove home our first Porsche not long ago had the same thing crossing the Mohave 1000 miles from home. The handbook said nothing but 50-50 split coolant and when I found some we added to lower limit marking. They also overfilled my oil (white all the way to top in oil check readout) which caused oil
Check light to come on periodically as we drove. Cap, and oil - (as well as pdk software reset coz thought maybe running rough) all done under warranty at local dealer when we got home and had it thoroughly checked out. Our local Porsche dealer has been treating us like we bought the car from them. I'm really impressed. Enjoy your car it's really great!!

went to another local dealer and they replaced cap (had the 03 one , now last # s are 04).. Looks like those caps vent, so maybe it is OK the have residue on and around cap.. The tech also showed me the aluminum hosing on bottom of engine with drain plug for coolant. It had some old dry pink on it but he did not want to change the plug because he said sometimes they strip when taking them in amd out and he did not have the whole housing in stock if that happened. He said he didn t think it was leaking as it was all dry. I ll have to watch that if I loose any more. He said the radiators looked fine and seen nothing else.

She's a beaut! So what's your initial take vs. the MB, vettes et al?
