Fister 997.2 exhaust mod.
Fister 997.2 exhaust mod.
Just back from FD motorsports - they pulled my mufflers on my 997.2 cab and welded in a stainless pipe on each muffler to create a deeper and louder exhaust note (akin to the Porsche sport exhaust, but without the valve) - they call it the Porsche exhaust by Fister. I'm very pleased with the result, and found it a pleasure working with Darin and company. They do quality work!
Now the P-car sounds more like a sports car! Deeper at idle, louder and deeper at low revs (below 3K), snarlsome at 3-5, nice all the rest of the way to redline. My 15 year old gave it 2 thumbs up, and no drone on the highway.

Fister or FD Motorsports is actually very popular with upgrades for 993s, pretty much #1 recommendation.
I guess it's spreading now to the newer models.

Only difference is the quality of the welds for the cross pipe. And finish. Some of the Gundo Hacks look like a hack job

This is indeed the "gundo" hack, but done with all stainless and welded properly. I think a better solution than trusting a muffler shop, and you can send in your mufflers and get reworked ones back in the mail. My car sounds deeper at low revs than the video, but the videos are rarely accurate.
Inexpensive and satisfying mod.

Looks like their shop is within your area, I would pop over to FD and talk with Darin. He could probably arrange for you to hear someone's car in person.
Good luck!
Yep...your right. I didn't look at their web site. I will have to drop by..local shop for mods!! I'm all over that!!
