Would you consider buying a set of used fabspeed mufflers if it 's around $750 vs Gundo hack $250~$350?

There is a set of Fabspeed's for sell through 6speedonline and I was considering it, but why spend $ 800.00 when I can get better sound, which is what I'm looking for, with a cheaper option. I want to get some HP gain, but to do that I would have to change the heaters and the cats, and with emissions in California so tight, don't know if I could pass when that time comes. I may pass the computer test, but I would fail the visual test. I'm sure I could find someone to pass me....but.......

Anyway...I will see what the FD will do and go from there. I'm going to do a before and after video of my car and post that for review and comments.

Hey HRoussard we are sort of neighbors!!

On the 10th, Flintworks is having a Car Care Day. I will be there and I will have the mod mufflers on too. If you need some service, you should come by!

I've tried both and, for me, the Fabspeed mufflers give a lower throaty sound, which is what I was looking for. FWIW...sound is very subjective and one should not depend on videos in making a decision. Listen to the actual sounds from as many different applications as possible.

Hey RaidersR1,

I've been considering the Fister exhaust option for my 997.1 as well. Have you come across any tasteful exhaust tips to pair it with?

I'm getting a pair of ceramic black tips for my exhaust. Only 60.00 from FD. They look great in person and are exactly what I'm looking for on my car. I'll post pictures Thursday after the install of the exhaust and tips.

Exactly what I did after getting my Fister Stage 2 mod. Darin does a great job with great pricing on the ceramic coating. I might show up at Flintworks, too.

Looking forward to those pics! The velvet black from FD Motors Sports should look really good on silver. I've always leaned towards the polished looks so it will be interesting to see the final product.

Anyone running with the ceramic velvet black exhaust tips on a black 997?

Thanks
