battery tender question

I put a set of pig tails on the battery so I can plug in a battery tender when the car is not being used. My question is , with the hood only down to the first latch, because the wire runs into the trunk , I noticed the trunk light is on. Will this go off after a certain peroid of time? How long? If not how do you guys run the wire in and close the trunK? Thanks

PS/ thanks for your time guys, some of us here with our new cars are just trying to figure some things out.

It will go off in about 2 hours:

If the ignition key is removed, loads which are
switched on or are in standby mode (such as the
luggage compartment light, interior light and
radio) are automatically switched off after approx.
2 hours.

It will go off a lot faster (10 to 20 minutes) if you lock the car with the remote.

I was able to close the trunk completely. Run the wire along the rubber seal that outlines the trunk opening. The wire can be stuffed under the rubber, just as the plastic trim fits under the rubber seal. Then take the wire out the front about a foot of center. The trunk closes completely and the wire does not pinch or scuff any paint.

I bring out the wire by the windscreen . I also was shown the front latch with a screwdriver can push on the latch and then can set the front hood down but not locked ( gap of two inches) or so. You can reset by just releasing the front hood latch by the driver's seat when you bring back to normal.amybody else heard of this?

I use the cigarette lighter option and that works great. Open passenger side window run it through there and no worries. Never had a problem and charges very well.

Theres a rubber trim towards the bottom of the pass door you will see a hole stretch the rubber seal and send the wire threw it and you can close the door perfectly without crimping the wire. Hope i explained that well
