Will Dension Gateway 500 work with 997.2?

PCM in the second gen 997's should have all the functionality of the Dension. Why would you put one in?

The previous owner decided not to purchase the IPOD/AUX/USB option. I'm just trying to figure out how to add it and at the least cost.

Pretty expensive but fits your requirements (except least cost).

I would guess your 997.2 would need a multi disc player which would be unusual, but I am only guessing.

Not an FM modulator - hooks up directly to the PCM - it's what you get if the car came optioned with this:
870 Universal Audio Interface
Includes connections for three audio source types - IPod, USB for memory stick
with MP3 files, and auxiliary interface for other source. IPod and USB interfaces

include operation via PCM.

That would be great! I think the FM Modulator is for the 2005 through 2008.

Well, I already purchased it and thought if the dealer would install for a decent price I would just have them do it..WRONG. They wanted $810 to install and activate it! So I decided to make this my mod-DIY weekend (tubi is 1/2 way on!...ran out of daylight). I'll take lots of pics and write it up (assuming it works when I'm done). The dealer will still have to do the activation...they'll probably want to charge me $200 just to enter the code.

Keep me posted. I emailed Suncoast and they replied that:

The ipod kit must be installed by your local dealership. I can supply you an install guide, but it must be done at a dealership and they have access to all the necessary info.

Not sure why? but it seems like it is a straight forward install just time consuming with removing parts.

I know people have had it installed by 3rd party stereo installers and then activated later by the dealer...so I feel pretty confident dealer installation isn't absolutely needed. I know that dealer activation IS needed.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Did you make any progress on the installation of the PCM 3.0 Audio & iPod Input Kit?
