One muffler down, one to go. Then off to the welder tomorrow. Many members with positive reviews about how their ride sounds after its done. Like many here, I just need a little more growl. Hopefully this will be my LAST mod. My wife said 6speed is bad influence for me. Haha.

 

Oops..need some help. Maybe a little late to ask but does anyone know if this will void warranty in any way?

Do you have primary bypass too. I am curious on your thoughts if you have the bypass too because that will be my current setup. Can't wait for the result. It's suppose to be done later this afternoon.

I have the 2" bypass whatever the gundo hack requierd. What a world of a diffrence!! Its not a 3k or 5k setup such as the top brand exhausts but im happy with it. Its loud and throaty enough for me. Let me know how yours went

It's DONE!! And music to my ears!! Shoulda effen dun dis waaaay sooner. Wish I know how to post videos but here's my current set up. Gundo Hack on both left and right mufflers and Fabspeed Xpipe for the center bypass. (don't know why I said "both left and right" cuz why would anyone only do one side? ) Let me share some of my findings. I had a hard time finding DYI for the 997.2 (plenty of useful info for the 997.1 as the principal are similiar), it's probably out there, I just didn't see it so I decided to create a DYI for us 997.2 folks that want to tackle it themselves.

Tools you'll need:
20 inch long 3/8 drive extension
10 inch long 3/8 drive extension
3 inch long 3/8 drive extension
10mm deep socket (3/8 drive)
1/2 inch deep socket (3/8 drive)
1/2 inch short socket (3/8 drive)
3/8 drive ratchet
3/8 inch flex coupler
T–30 torx screwdriver
3/8 inch socket (12 points, 1/4 drive)
3 inch long 1/4 drive extension
1/4 drive ratchet
Screw jack

 

Use T-30 torx to remove tips.

 

^^^Correction. Use 3/8" socket to remove tip.

 

Use 1/2" short socket, flex joint and 20" long extension to remove two nuts on the muffler mounting plate. Access through the bumper opening where the exhaust tip was.

 

Use 1/2" deep socket, 3" extension to loosen the two nuts on the clamp. Slide the clamp toward the center of the car to disengage the pipe.
