auto dimming mod question

I've already done a search and I couldn't find the answer...

I don't have auto dimming rear mirror and would like to have it.

If possible, do all 3 mirrors or just the center rear mirror...

Any advice, thoughts or direction?

I looked into this for my old 997.1 and it was basically possible but would require alot or work (rewiring) and alot of $$. Unfortunately there was no easy solution and I even checked aftermarket and OEM. Wasn't worth the cost and effort in the end. Basically what I learned after numerous calls to several dealers and aftermarket places is that if the car is not prewired from the factory, it would require alot of rewiring and would cost a ton which was surprising as I thought it would be an easy swap of the center mirror and tap into the power from the dome light but apparently is not that easy.

I have auto dimming. I do not think the side view mirrors dim even though the rear view mirror does.

I had it on the last two cars and the GTS came without it. Can't say that I miss it and adding it now would not be worth the cost.

You might want to do more searching on the forums, I remember installing one on my 996 and the car was prewired, just had to get an OEM mirror.
