997.2 cab with wind deflector
how much wind noise and how well is the cabin insulated on the 997.2 cab with the top down and the wind deflector up? i'm trying to convince the wife i can get a cab however she doensn't like the wind mussing up her hair. i drove it without the deflector and she wasn't a big fan.
I've driven at 70 mph+ in 20 degree weather with the top down, windows up, wind deflector up, heated seats & heater on & no complaints from the wife or problems with her hair. To keep her happy in the warm months the top is down, windows up, wind deflector up & A/C (from the floor & dash vents) are keeping us cool as long as there is not too much stop & go traffic.
Without her in the car the top is down, windows down, wind deflector down (but I keep it in place) & will run the A/C for the warm months.
Take her out for another test drive & also try an evening drive.

Agree with others --- very quiet if desired. Wind deflector up and side windows you can drive and hear music, have a conversation etc. Lower side windows and get some breeze or drop the windows and rear deflector and feel the rush (wear a hat for sun protection!).
With wind deflector and the windows up, like others have said, it is very "peaceful". There is barely any wind noise nor actual wind in the cabin. I have done 2-3 hour road trips with the top down using the wind deflector and I have had zero complaints. I'd suggest going out and testing it in person though(if that's possible), because everyone has their own idea of what is a tolerable level of wind and noise.
Agree - wind deflector makes ALL the difference.
Most nights when we take the car out for a drive or dinner (and importantly, she's spent an hour on her hair and make-up) I get no complaints for having top down, windows up and wind deflector up.
Longer drives at higher speeds = pony tail.

Wind deflector is a must while driving with my wife, she doesn´t like riding on my cab without it after 50Kph, but with wind deflector we can go +200Kph without any complain
it makes a huge difference.
Anyway I love to ride without it too, best thing about cabs is that you can have lots of driving pleasure driving at 50Kph.

At 6' 3" I have to put the seat up in my .2 so the back does not rest in the frame of the deflector. I am very uncomfortable to the point my knee is next to the steering wheel. Definitely test it out if you are near 6'.
Umm, I would humbly disagree. I am 6'3 235lbs 36"waist. I fit perfect in my C4S Cabby with the windscreen in. My seat is close to the windscreen, about 1" away but no issue.
Now, it really depends on where your height is. I have most of my length in the upper body. Finding a sports car that fits me "headroom" wise is a NIGHTMARE. The 911 Caby is the only Porsche that fits well for me headroom wise, so if you guys are tall from the waist up just know the 911 Caby is awesome.
If you are all legs? You might have some issues with the windscreen but at 6'3" I do not. Honestly, I fit perfect in the car. Now one thing I will point out about my car is the seats <butt width>. You are going to be a tight fit if your waist is greater then 36". Just keep that in mind. It keeps me away from the doughnuts lol.
Oh I "fit" but I can't see myself driving safely with my knees up to the steering wheel. I would make an exception for the wife if she actually wanted to go to dinner with me, in the Porsche with the top down. It would have to be close defeating the purpose. Excellent point made noting proportions.
Noting proportions
I'm 6' with a pants inseam of 32" & I have 1.5" from the seat back to the wind screen. My Son is 5' 10" with a pants inseam of 30". When he drives the car the wind screen has to be removed because he slants the back too far to the back IMHO. He tries the same the same stunt when he is my passenger but tough luck he has to sit more upright. The Son-in-Law has the same seat back angle but he is 5" 10" & thus no problem That's Youth for you.
I think the moral of the story is the older you are the less the wind screen seat back problem there is.
