$60K straight sell to dealer. We did buy a Cayenne at the same time, but it wasn't negotiated as part of the deal.

Not sure about CA but in my state one only pays sales tax on the spread when trading. So the $60k which is decent to begin with is even more attractive when adding in sales tax savings.

Congrats and enjoy the pepper!

Yes, NY too. So if sales tax is 7% you save $4200 in tax on the new car.
That s why I traded in a new MB on the 911 and was willing to take a low number on the trade in.

Thanks. Yes I am pretty happy about it. Did take a big loss on depreciation over the years, but I can only blame myself for not driving it more often.

We don't have tax savings here but it seems to be a good deal regardless.

CA is the land of high taxes but can't seem to get fiscally straight. What is the problem? I know it is a tough state to do business in from a cost perspective, but what gives?

Simple. Too many people using resources, not enough people paying taxes. A bunch of laws that cater to people not contributing to the greater good = bankrupt.
