Last year, I got a Bon-Aire i8000 Goodyear 120-Volt Direct Drive Tire Inflator from Amazon for $50 and it's been working great! No problem!

Harbor Freight, Sears or Pep Boys have between the three probably 20 choices. Hit the road and check them out. Not much difference between all of them. If you're going to run air tools make sure you have a generous storage tank.

I was looking at that one. Didn't have great ratings but may just take the risk to do the occasional top offs. Can you get up to 42 psi no problem?

I've got the Porter Cable pancake compressor years ago and in addition to airing up my tires on cars (which was actually a side benefit) it works my upholstery stapler, the wood flooring nailer and other light duty nailers.
