Dealer's body shop said that they will have to strip, repaint and clear to get a perfect match and also will also have to blend in the hood..Might have to to take it to another shop for a second opinion.

I'm picking up a Red 997 S pretty soon and this is a little scary, I might have to rethink the clear wrap and go with the old-school S&M look:

Good luck on the redo, it might be a chance to fix some of the chips that you mentioned in the first post.

Don't really think you have to be worried, mine just happened to be an odd case, no one on the forum seems to have had this issue, neither did the dealer see a car with this issue..

Original owner did have the black protector on the car, I just didn't like the way it looked with it on..
