woe is me

was just reading the thread about manual vs pdk's and kind of helped me decide my course ahead... yeah, woe, i am searching out my next porsche and have come down to 2, a .2 targa w/ 18kkm's, reported (by the seller) to have been built for the bologna auto show a couple years ago, certainly is beautiful, malachite, 2tone grey/black, leather everywhere, and...pdk, the other is a .1 2s macadamia/natural brown leather(also everywhere) with 11kkm's, and 6 speed, but no sunroof, and oh oh oh the x-51, pretty much the same price... the lack of the sunroof has me hesitating, but after reading that thread, i am pretty sure i will be rowing on monday, thanks, guys...nice problem to have,eh? still, be interesting to hear varying opinions here ...also does anyone know if it was built for an auto show by porsche, would they have done extra stuff like buffing/blocking the paint, attention to interior details, motor, what all... when i looked at it it did seem to be clearer/sharper paint-wise, but it also had the soft-look leather, not a fan...

Owning a Nissan GTR and the new Carrera C2S I am a big fan of the DCT, especially the PDK. The manual transmission in high end sports cars is quickly becoming a thing of the past. Row if you want but I have already jumped ship.

Both are low mileage cars, it would be great to get a few pics, if indeed the Targa was a show auto. Porsche interiors are very fine quality, well kept paint is something to look for.

Good luck.

Stick vs Pdk, there are threads and threads on this subject, personally I think it comes down to the use of the car; daily driver, weekend use, heavy commute traffic etc.I am in the lucky position to have both, pdk on my cayman and 6 speed on my 911s. I truly love both, but when I take the 911 to work and traffic is at a dead slow for 30 mins....I wish I had taken the pdk. If you go pdk, the first thing I would suggest is swapping the pdk wheel for a true paddle wheel, makes a massive - in my opinion - difference. Good luck with whatever choice you make!

My car is a weekend car. In may case and for my use, I like to keep the "sport" in sports car and the manual is my preferred choice. For a daily driver in commuter traffic, I am quite sure I would opt for the PDK. Manuals bite in heavy traffic.
