Everything happens to me :(
Most of you know I just got my car back from a very bad accident. She was repaired like new and I'm enjoying her more than ever when fate steps in to rain on my parade again!
I have a consulting business and I'm driving to a customer's location this week to teach a Presentation Skills Workshop and enjoying the start of a gorgeous day in NJ and then things began to go South.
I'm on Rt. 80 West and the traffic slows to a stop and I see a lot of smoke on the side and around my car and I'm thinking what jackass's car is smoking and lo and behold it's mine!
So I pull over and see all this smoke and it looks like it's coming from the radiator and there's some dripping underneath the car. I call a tow truck, my stepdaughter and get to the Workshop an hour late. It took the tow driver more than an hour to get there (always fun).
Come to find out that my condenser was struck by a rock and punctured. I also left my regular glasses in the car so I had to teach the class without my glasses because I only had sunglasses with me. That's very challenging as I can't see a GD thing without them!!!
10 hours later and $1,300 later i ended my day................oh well......at least I didn't get rear ended by a Chevy Tahoe.....been there done that so I know first hand it could have been worse!
Still smiling as the tech fixed it (replaced) and I got her back the same day
.
I hope things don't happen in 3s

Its nothing Tom. Smile because you have the chance to own and enjoy such a wonderful car. There are a lot worse things than $1300 and 10 hours of wait cannot fix.
So put things in perspective, and think that there is not such thing as 3s! Hakuna Matata.

i'm surprised there aren't more of these sits with the exposure of the rads, especially when there are 3 (radiators)...good comes out of bad, now you've got me on the hunt for grills...thanks! and glad it wasn't worse...cheers

your insurance should cover it. it's not a mechanical failure.
if you drive on roads with rocks much, you may want to have a body shop add some screens to the front bumper openings. or at least keep a distance from trucks etc. crap does happen though. jersey roads are some of the worst.
