I have a cab and I have never had anyone cut through the top etc. the car is not my DD and I live in an area where that type of random crime isn't too common. As a side note I'm pretty sure that when the top is up and the alarm is armed, there is a motion sensor that will go off if there is any motion in the cabin.

My $ .02 is go for the turbo cab if finances allow it. I've never ridden in a Targa 911 but top down on a nice day or warm summer night is a blast.
