Spring Mods Complete
Spring Mods Complete
Now with summer under way and the winter months behind me I thought it was the right time to share my upgrades. I’ve spent last fall through this spring working in some mods to my stock ’06 997.
They are:
•Eibach springs – Like the three bears – not too low, not to harsh (like normal), just right (for me)

•15mm rear / 7 mm front Adaptec wheels spacers (the best quality I have ever experienced)

•Lobster Forks powered coated classic Fuchs black (at least close)
•Painted brake calipers silver / with red lettering (wanted to stay true to a base Carrera with the caliper color)

•Black stone guards (Suncoast - service is excellent)
•Sport Classic Ducktail replica (I am impressed with the overall quality of the product as delivered)

•Mike’s Auto Body – Malden MA (the guy loves Porsche’s – was awesome to work with - http://www.mikesautobodyofmalden.com/)
•991 model lettering (Suncoast – see above)

This great sight has been an inspiration while I progressed. While far from being at the level of some of you I think it all pulled together pretty well.

Thanks for the look. See you on the road.
Matt

The car looks great !
the drop and the overall stance looks great. The lobster wheels are one of the lightest Porsche offers, no? Anyway looks good with the ducktail.
not a fan of 'porsche carrera' under the ducktail tho.. too bz, IMO.
i would opt for simple '911' instead.
also u might wanna consider a side decal/stripe to complement the classic look ?
either way, nicely done and thx for sharing

Thanks so much for the feedback.
Regarding the comfort of the drop, I travel from Boston to Westport CT every week (good weather) and there is really no difference in ride quality at all. It does feel lower getting out of it though
Regarding the calipers, I had no idea there is an option to get standard calipers painted red from the factory. I really like the look of the red calipers. I did paint mine myself. It's not a hard job, just time consuming.
I wonder how a classic side stripe would look. I might have to find a good photoshop person to help me visualize it. It might be very cool!
Thanks much,
Matt
PS re: the ducktail - I'm more than happy to PM you where I got it.

Matt - I didn't know this either until after I bought the car. I would love the silver on mine.
BTW how fast have u gone with the ducktail? does the front end feel lighter or floaty at high speed?
i was initially planning on putting on a ducktail (with gt3 front) on my cab. But in the end, i didn't want to mess around with the original aerodynamics of the cab. (i remember reading somewhere the rear wing of the cab is at slightly different angle from a coupe)
