I have had my AWE CatFlos for 16 months or 10k miles, they just went bad, they are out of warranty and new ones are 1900 dollars, any one had any similar issues? I have really been pleased with Performance, but going bad this soon really? The car went into Safe mode at my DE yesterday, 1st session, not happy

 

I checked the AWE website for "Catflos" but don't find anything. What is your catflos that went bad? If it's a catalytic converter replacement you might check with your state law to see if there is a minimum period that a cat. needs to be guaranteed. Federally OEM cats. have to last a lot longer than 1.5 years. I don't know about aftermarket - if that's what you're posting about.

 

We're these Cats new or used when you bought them? What is wrong? CEL or Rattle?

I had used AWE cats that went bad, the cats themselves started to ball up.

Buy Softronic software and go with out cats and you will be better off.

 

What are the typical results of going catless? Torque, Power?

 

Result of going catless - violation of federal law, also many state/city laws prohibit removal as well, louder vehicle (maybe desired), you won't pass emissions.

 

AWE cats= lifetime warranty to origional owner.

 

Power, and yes there are laws that will prevent some from doing this.

Do you really think any car that runs on fossil fuels is good for the environment? Sell your Porsche and buy a Volt, better yet, don't drive at all. While your standing on your soap box perhaps you can stop using electricty, chances are it is from one of the 18 coal burning power plants in NY state.

 

To really cut down on emissions you need to limit the true source of the issue, people. Put a large tax on every kid after the second. Maybe that would stop people from trying to populate their own football team. :-)

it's the cell that went bad, I bought them new. I can try calling AWE but the website says 1 year. If I ran catles would it be louder? I'm sorry I don't have a concern about my personal pollution(laughing) I do donate to child charities, but Porsche Pollution is not on my list of things to do.
