I just spoke to my dealer and he said my July build order is still at "order examined" status. He said every dealer is in the same boat and that Porsche is going to release all 06 cars at one time.

Is this for real? He originally told me that I would have my car by the end of August....is that a pipe dream? The wait is killing me!!!!!!!!!!

Are there any other July build members who have already hit manufacturing?

The only reason they'd do this is if there was a major change on the car/model being produced. Otherwise you may end up in September production due to factory shutdown in August every year.

Sounds ridiculous for them to launch all '06 models, unless there is something major coming.

 

That would make a few of us pretty angry.

 

It is my understanding that they will build a bunch of pre-vacation 06 models and send them off sometime very early August. Hopefully this is true.

 

Told by dealer today my July production 997S has production number already and should be getting production date in next few days.

I was told that I will be getting the first '06 997S in Dallas. Supposedly, it should be built this month and I should get it in mid July. Originally, they told me that I'd get it in August but since then, they have moved up the date by 2 weeks...... Should I be worried???

I was told that the introduction of the cayman will delay 06' 997 deliveries especially 06cabs since the 05 cabs were not released until April 05.

 

is the X51 option officially available and an y idea on ballpark pricing for the package?

That seems very aggressive....you should call your dealer and see what the status is on your car. My dealer also told me that I would have one of the first 2006 models.....I am beginning to get concerned at this point since the car was supposed to be built by mid July and the order is still pending....

 

Exciting Update! My dealer called today and my car has started the build process with a production date of 7/11/05! This is awesome...he says my car will be here well before the end of August....I hope he is right!!!!!!

 

Excited for you man, finally somebody with July production got the production date. Hope I get my soon.
