Has my car got a Differential/TBD or not? (997.1 C2S)
Hi there
I don't think my car has a TBD as I get wheel hop on a hard launch, but I checked the options against my VIN and this comes up:-
- I219 Differential
Is that just the stock open differential which works with PSM most our cars came with from the factory?
Car is a 997.1 C2S manual!
If so I am tempted to add a Quaife TBD to the car as I do the odd trackday, so suspect I would feel the benefits of one.
Am also contemplating the GT3 rollbars and front arms along with a GEO setup.
My car already has PCCB, X51, Aerokit, would adding a Quaife, GT3 rollbars, front arms and a full GEO setup make it even closer to a GT3 or am I just wasting my money?
My car is a daily driver and I do 5-6 track events per year and in total I've done about 30 track events now and am finding the limits of the car quite easily, which is well understeer in both wet and dry. In the wet I'd love to get on the power earlier, something which a TBD should help with a lot?

I219 is the open differential. I220 is the factory limited slip (LSD).
Not sure the factory offered a mechanical torque distributing diff in a Carrera, but I may be wrong. The torque vectoring is a very new option.
