Valentine 1 with Savy Help

I just got my Valentine 1 with savvy that let's me hook it up to the OBD port for power.

I turn on the car, plug in the port and after a few seconds the Valentine 1 powers up. When I turn the car off and go to turn the car back on I can't get the Valentine 1 to come back on. The only way to do it is to unplug the OBD and plug it back in...few seconds later on it goes.

Any help from people who have done this?

Jason

How long did you wait for it to turn back on???

From the Manual: When the ignition key is switched on for the first Savvy boot-up, there will be a “get acquainted” sequence with the car’s electronic system. Up to 30 seconds may be required before V1 powers up. On subsequent start-ups, V1 will power up within a few seconds. When the engine is shut off, V1 will power down within 10 seconds.

Yep...I'm doing that and it does power up the first time to get acquainted...but on subsequent start up the V1 does not power up at all. That's what I'm trying to figure out.

Hi Jason - something is wrong with your savvy. I have the exact same set up. The V1 powers down a few seconds after I turn the engine off and remove the key. It powers back up as soon as I start the car. Call Valentine and get a new unit sent to you. Good luck.

I think I might have figured it out...I was not starting the engine...just had the key turned on. I read that the Savy needs to read a particular volt level to turn on. As soon as the car was started...on it comes.

Thanks everybody.

Do you think the savvy unit will work with an escort radar detector? I assume so...

Can one of you with the savvy take a few pics of the odbii plug and wire route there? Curious what it looks like mounted.

I've hard wired my v1 for years but I like the speed control idea with this device.
