I also have an EVO airbox. Good sound, easy installation, but it will not make miracles. Expect about 5 horsepower.

i have a K&N. probably the cheapest option if you're going to replace your stock airbox.

What model K&N CAI for the 997.1? Searches only turn up an OEM sized air filter, no CAI's for the 997 by K&N.

There are some mentions of the 996 version working on the 997 engine though - looking for confirmation. Anyone?

Another option is to replace the standard air filter in the factory cold air intake that came with your car (it's a good one). You can get a K&N or BMC filter that is less restrictive than the standard air filter and it will yield results similar to the other options (EVO, Fabspeed, K&N) without the possibility of introducing hot air from the engine compartment.

If you want to get real fancy, you could get a carbon fiber intake like the X51 ($3.4K), Werks1 ($3K), or Carbonio ($1.5K).

If yours is the stock one, you already have a good one. Don't waste your money.

I know they are not the greatest thing I have a 4S and I am putting a turbo deck on it. I would have to hack up the stock box so all clears and I can't bring myself to hack it.

same here

That's why I did evo to clear the hydraulics on the 997TT rear deck lid I installed. Ahhhhh I maybe the OG of the turbo rear deck lid on a none turbo 997 as did it about 3-4 years back now...

Good luck... Have to move the fan over a bit as well to clear..

I heard from another fine member that the fan has to move over. He was kind enough to share his method for moving it. Can you explain how you did?

It really depends on what you want. I (and some others) have this one. Available only from Europe where many Porsche aftermarket parts that aren't available here exist. Available here: http://www.eurocupgt.com/acatalog/eu...tion_kits.html

Unless you just want looks and sound, save you're money - negligble performance increase...and let us know where the cold air comes from.
