Hi I have the PSE in chrome and want to go mat black on the exhaust tips. I've seen others purchase from MaxSpeed MotorSports and the product looks great. That said its $500 plus - can I just get my tips painted ? Anything I should know ?

 

Just go have them ceramic coated!Cost me $60 bucks.A lot on here also go with powder coating.

 

sweet, thanks, save some $$$, makes total sense. I think some buy them b/c they want the look with the PSE tips which I already have..

 

How does one get them "ceramic coated"? Do you just go to a body shop and ask for it? What does this actually mean? Thanks!

 

Darin Fister of the famous Fister Mod does a great job with cerakoting. I mailed my tips to him, he mailed them back, done. Super easy. Didn't find anyone locally through a cursory search.

 

I recommend Darin as well. Does great work.

 

I would recommend by checking in your area or googleing it first.There might be someone very close.The place I found was about 5 miles from my home.I dropped them off on Mon. and picked up on Thurs.

I media blasted my PSE tips.
I used a friends blasting setup (cost him $500) and used garnet media.
Took 15 min for both sides. I wanted the matte look. Only other chrome item is the headlight washers which I need to figure out hot to remove.
Had these on car about 3 months and I just use a scotchbrite pad once when I washed car to get the soot of the edges.

I've got a setof TUBI tips in black. You can have them for $200 + freight from AUS

 

Dont think those will fit PSE.
Need to see the back of to be sure.

Seriously...you can't go wrong with using Darin. He does an exchange program as well. Send in your current tips, he sends out the coated tips. You may have an ugly back end for a bit...but you can't beat the price!!

I'm lucky, his shop is a 1 minute walk from my office...spoiled!!
