RMS leak questions
RMS leak questions
Looking to purchase a preowned 911 c2s. The car has 30,000 miles, but had the RMS replaced at 3,500 miles and again at 30,000. This concerns me..
Would like to get some opinions.
Thanks
Peter

Had my 996 seal replaced at 6000 miles. Sold it 12 years later with 50000 miles never leaked after being replaced. A leaky RMS is not an engine killer like a intermediate shaft bearing failure.
You could live with an RMS leak forever except for slight loss of oil and messy garage floor.

Sounds like an issue. We don't hear of too many RMS replacements on the 997, though on builds prior to May of 2006 there was a different, less strong, bearing.
Either negotiate a super deal or walk. Too many nice ones out there. Watch for the build date too.
