Question on electronic nannies for GTS owners

As a rule, I never turn the stability systems off on public roads.

Yesterday, while taking a hard left corner fairly aggressively (out in the country, dry, no one around, etc...safe), as I rolled on power coming out of the corner, the rear end stepped out smoothly. I stayed on power as the rear continued to hang out smoothly until regaining full traction. Big grin for the next few miles. I repeated the same corner later and had the same outcome.

All nannies were ON. I was surprised (pleasantly) that the electronic stability systems were not more intrusive. I'm sure they were present but not noticeable. In an Audi TT I owned previously, intervention was like a slap in the face.

What has been your experiences with the stability systems and their intrusiveness (or lack thereof) in the GTS? Is the application of the stability systems any different in the GTS than in a non-GTS 997.2?

Safe travels.

January 8th, '12 I'm making a left hand 90 degree turn on to an on-ramp. The turn isn't truly 90 degrees b/c there is a lot of bail-out space on the right so you can normally take it at speed (picture a Parabola). Anyway, I get half way through and apply a little gas so the tail end plants. Unfortunately, at about the same time the road got particularly bumpy and I had total under steer (I mean my wheels are turned and the car is going straight). The dash lit up and about very shortly thereafter the car rotated through the turn. And I was probably only going 25 mph or so at the time. Particularly intrusive, never any danger of a crash in this case, but nice to know the system works.

Interestingly, I never noticed anything light up on my dash....might have been because my eyes were so focused on where I wanted to car to go.
