DCI is infamous around these parts
997 X51 vs 991 X51?

The new X51 kit for the 991 is out and has 430hp and 324lb-ft of torque. Anyone know how they keep managing to get more HP an torque out of this engine? Is it just the RPM bump that is producing the added HP?

Just curious if with a little tinkering we can get the 997 X51 up to these numbers.

My guess is you can get there and there is most likely a solution available. The bigger question to me is the cost/benefit ratio. Is it worth it?

porsche is like a golf player...course management. they do not give you all in one hit. they manage everything so that they can get the maximum revenue. if you notice they always bump the power figures only marginally. these people already know what the new engine is capable of. they have already segregated the power that they will give the customers for the next few years of the life of the model. Yes you can get more power from the engine but you have to go somewhere else because porsche will not give it to you

Given that the new GT3 will use the same block... we know they've already likely engineered the motor to go up to 500hp (naturally aspirated). It wouldn't surprise me if the 991.2 generation of turbos are over 600hp from the dealer. Very cool times ahead.
