Anyone here tried wider tyres on a C2S (245 front & 305 rear)?
Hi there
My car is a 2006 Carrera S which is 75% road use and other 25% track/circuit use with the following setup:-
Front bar set one from softest. (Gen2 GT3 bar)
Rear bar set too softest (Gen 2 GT3/GT2 bar)
Front 7mm spacers
Rear 5mm spacers
9mm of shims used on each lower GT3 control arm widening front track a further 18mm
Front camber -1.8degrees
Front castor +8.30
Front toe 0.00 (neutral)
Rear camber -1.75degrees
Rear toe +0.25 total
Car handles much more neutral, grips better and is a sheer joy and it slides very progressively, all round a great improvement.
Tyres wise I am running MPSS in 235/35/19 front and 295/30/19 rear, car is a 997.1 C2S on Sport Design wheels which I believe are 8" wide front and 11" wide rear?
Would it be ok to run Michelin CUPS in 245/35/19 front and 305/30/19 rear along with increasing front camber to approx -2.2degrees?
What are your thoughts, anyone else here running larger width tyres as per above, how are you finding it?

As I notice you are really set up for performance, you many benefit even more by running wider wheels. Like the turbos in the front, which have 8.5" widths. You can also go to 11.5 or 12 in the rear, but you'll need to check the offsets.
I'd be happy with just 245 up front and 305 rear, so glad it will fit and hopefully it will give me a little all round grip.
I have a 2008 C2S with lobster forks; would 305s work? Thanks. Hope not too off topic.
Cheers.

Those are 11" wide, I am running 315's on my 10.5" track wheels
you run 245/45/20 and 305/30/20 and no rubbing?could you tell me what are your offsets? thats just what i have been asking about, again,, sorry about the hijack, its just a little one...
I have factory lobsters on my C2 (nonS) and am running 295's in the rear (hankook ventus). These wheels could easily hold 305's. In fact my next set will be 305s as the hankook tires run a bit narrow at the tread line anyway.
Mine are actually 245/30ZR/0 & 305/25ZR/20's i just when out and looked for you

The car came with them fitted and i have only had it 2 months, not sure about offsets...how can i found out and tell you? Sorry new to this technical stuff
yes that is the usual size tire mounted when 20's are installed on a 997, it keeps the total diameter of wheel and tire almost the same as with the 19's, and with ET sometimes it is stamped on the inside of the rims somewhere...never mind about that, lotta work for nothing, thanks for the response, cheers, kk
