Labor day oil change and detailing of the twins

Hi there!

I took advantage of the lazy labor day weekend to get together with a good friend of mine that happens to have the exact same car as I do: A 2005 Black 997 Carrera. His car is pretty much stock and with very, very low miles... (25,000) We wanted to perform some minor maintenance like oil and filter, air filter and carbon activated cabin filter. after we did all that, we went ahead and washed/clayed/waxes our cars. We started by 9:30 and by 3:00 we were almost done. What a great feeling! Next time, I will buy a steam cleaning machine and I will tackle the engine/undercarriage area...
Here are some pictures of the event...

Looking SHARP Joel!!!
Next time let me know! I recently had my car detailed as well....looks fantastic!!! I'll go and hang out with you guys, and you can have a cabrio in the mix also! lol! By the way, I aded the LED DRL's, Dectane rear lights and changed the rear decal to a simple, chrome "911 S"! Also wrapped the hood with carbon fiber vinyl! Gonna have to re-do that though, didn't come out as nice as I wanted (few bubbles here and there), but I like the overall look.

Love the wrapped hood and LED driving lights, but where is the beer???? You can't have a real detail party without adult beverages.

BTW, I'm planning on re-doing my driveway, and yours gave me some ideas. Thanks!

As nice as interlocking brick is, I'd completely advise against it. I did it years ago, the weeds grow through it like nothing. Don't leave your car parked in the same spot over and over or you'll start seeing groves. I had to re-grout mine last year. Pain in the ***, neighbor just put in stamped concrete, it looks amazing. And maintenance free!

We had adult beverages on the garage's refrigerator!
Abdon, next time you are more than welcome... we are down on 162 and sunset, so it's a drive for you! LOL!
Next weekend is the Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale cars and coffee... I'm going to be there for sure!
The wheels are Avant Garde, custom powder coated in satin charcoal. Wheels' size and offset are:

19 x 8.5 et 45 with 235 tires
19 x 11 et 52 with 305 tires
Thanks to the aggressive offset, next set of tires will be 245's and 315's

Pretty flush with the fender. I need to drop the car, I know...

Great thread & awesome pics man. It's a rare & beautiful sight seeing 2 911s together.

When I first bought my 996 I stayed at my buddy's house in Stuart, FL for a few days trying to learn stick! We have a few pics of our vehicles similar to yours.

Thanks! Hadn't considered those little details. I'll have to look into the stamped concrete option as well. I have a couple neighbors who are going to do the same project at the same time as me to cut costs a bit, so this is all good info.

Thanks again.
