It's bee crap and the reason it's the same in Germany as in the U.S. is because ~300 years ago Europeans imported their native honey bees (Apis mellifera) to the then colonies. They, the bees, were so successful that they decimated many native bee populations (culture imitates nature apparently). When you consider what bees eat (generally nectar, pollen and water), it's no wonder it is yellow

In terms of Porsche content, I had a SY 911 and hardly ever noticed the spots/scats - with Turquoise Blue they stand out considerably.

It's a real issue down here in Southern California. The sales guys at Auto Gallery told me it was drops of fuel from passing commercial jets...........but that sounds like BS to me. I think its pollen from eucalyptus trees.

Always assumed it was from birds. We seem to get it most when we are parked by the marina. Lots of birds there -- don't see many bees?? I've also heard the theory that it comes from airplanes.

OK, now I'm buying the bees theory. In a health food store yesterday and saw a bag of bee pollen. Little yellow pellets -- look just like the spots we're talking about.

Google images for bee poop. Bam! That's it. Tried images for jet fuel drops. Mmmm, not so much.
