Okay Let me see if I have the facts straight...
Dad bought you a 997s and your selling it to donate the money?
(Cool to donate no matter who's money it is).
Now Dad has already bought you a new 997s that is on order..
It is a good gesture, but you wind up with the same car as you had only newer for no dollars out of your pocket? Anyone would take that trade any day... Does dad need an adopted son??
When I read the inital post I thought you were giving up your 997S and going to drive a Honda civic or such. Now that would have been a sacrifice for you... trading a older 997 for a newer one is not that much of a sacrifice for anyone let alone a college student.. Dam.. I drove a 64 bug in college
Kudos to your Dad for allowing you to make the donation...
As far as your health goes I sincerely hope all is well... Good Luck

Gary- I bought the 997 c2 and have a order placed for an upcoming porsche that i will be paying half for (my father decided to give me the other half after the fact that i wanted to donate the moneys to my car- he was really proud of me for doing so). I will actually be driving around in my jeep/dodge until this wintertime or somewhere around there. I didnt know that I would be getting a new one at the time I decided to let go of the car- to be honest with you I planned on just getting a nice car to get me through the rest of college with some money. but when he told me that he wanted to give me his spot on a build list for voluntarily donating to the ACS, and that he wouldn't accept no for an answer, i answered yes.
Im still not 100% if i will have the car (i'd rather have him take it)- in which case i will probably get a bmw or something, but the plan is as stated for now.
and no- he is not accepting adoptions
and also- i am doiing much better now. thank you, gary.
