Goodbye 997....

I've decided to sell my carrera and put the money to something that has recently become very important in my life.
I will be selling the car and donating all the moneys to the American Cancer Society.
I think I already have a buyer but if it falls through I will post it on here.
Expect to see me back in the p-car scene this fall but I will still be around the forums so no worries

also- if any of you are interested in donating to this as well please let me know- maybe we could set up a larger 6speed fund or something.

Ryan

Wow, good for you!......do you have a lien to pay off or are you really giving the entire value of the car?!

I have already donated some of my cash from my personal account to the fund but I will be donating the whole value of the car (hoping to get 75k, if not my father said he would add cash until it reaches 75).
I just feel that others could use the money more, especially after talking to some people in the hospital with me who dont have health insurance and dont know how they will pay for treatment...
I am grateful that I am able to have such a car at my age, but even more grateful that I know I could help many others by simply letting it go.

You can call me crazy, but I feel that I am doing the right thing in this situation. Like I said- I will be back in the p-car scene this fall no matter what.

Good for you. I have no idea who you are, but I really admire you for doing this. I hope to follow in your footsteps in the near future.

Wow, that's very generous of you. Any idea what % of money is actually distributed to research, patient treatment instead of administrative expenses?

If you have the money to buy another p car later, why not just use that money towards donation instead of buying again? I assume you'll take a loss on each sell/purchase esp w/ taxes.

I already have it paid for and I am taking delivery in the fall, details to come...

As for the %... I beleive I can actually have an option on how much is distributed, I will be pushing to have 75% for patient treatment and the rest for research, etc.

As for the loss- Cancer has forced people to lose much more than cars... I am pretty young and having to experience this already in my life has done a bit to my view of cancer in general, it is a very scary place to be, and if I plan on being a continuing donator to many organizations that have to do with cancer.

If you are interested in donating please PM me for contact info!
