Paint Shop in NorCal

Hi Guys -

I have been thinking that for a "mid-life" update before I replace my '09 997 cab, I might change the color from the fairly drab factory silver. I've already done all of the performance tuning/suspension work that a cab warrants, and am looking for a tasteful way to ratchet up the visual interest. I'm thinking orange pearl - possibly from the Lambo. Do you know of any shops that you would HIGHLY recommend for a complete re-spray/color change? I'd love to have a couple of conversations about process and price.

I'm in the SF Bay Area, so some names in the area would be greatly appreciated.

thx very much.

Adam

Absolutely - Brooks Motor Cars, Daniel Kim is the owner and a terrific guy and a car-nut. His shop is located at 9829 Bigge Street, Oakland, CA 94603. 510.632.8901.

I am not associated with them in any way except as a very satisfied customer for about 20 years now. They are the only shop I use and in fact my 2012 Kia Optima (daily driver) will be going into his shop in about 2 weeks for about $3K worth of work after being rear-ended.

What is the logic??? A classy paint job is 10K .. That on a 7 year old car... Why?? Save the money , sell the car and get something you like. Just my 7 cents.

I am looking for a cab and local. If you want to sell it, let me know.

A big job will take a while. Try superior autobody in redwood city.

Good points. Perhaps the best answer is to sell it and start again rather than put more into it.

Here's a link to how it looks now:

http://sharkwerks.com/porsche/997-ca...i-exhaust.html

In addition to everything called out, it has a GT3 nose and both radiators...

Get back to stock as much as possible and sell the take-off items. There are always people looking for them. Sell the car and start over. I suggest that you make a requirements document ie list ALL the things you'd like and all the things you want and the plan you have for the new car's mods. Then, start hunting for that car. You will save yourself a bundle of cash and have a lot of fun looking at all the candidates for you. Remember, aftermarket items when sold with the car get you 10 cents on the dollar. The rest is vaporware money.
