Clear Bra for my 2012 C2S Cab

II am in the process of getting pricing for the clear bra for my new C2S that many people here reccommended I get. I have a couple questions I was hoping the board could help me with.
  • Is there a specific brand that i should be asking for that is better than others.
  • I was told I should not just do the nose but the whole front hood and fenders. Is this overkill. Pricing wise there was minimal difference between doing everything and Just the front.
  • Is there any damage to the paint if and when I take the clear shield off.
  • What is the ball park price it should cost me for having this done I was quoted in the $1200 Range.

1. I like the Lamin-X Protective Film, it's 17 mil thick and includes a 5 year warranty against fading or yellowing.

2. I would advise doing the front hood, fenders, and mirrors.

3. There shouldn't be any damage to the paint upon removal.

4. If your not comfortable doing it yourself, I would take it some where. That sounds about right for a reputable installer.

I am very happy with my 3M clear bra install.I had the front bumper, half way up on the hood and the fenders alike, plus the headlight lenses, mirrors, behind door handles rear fender stone guards (which covers way more than the stock clear guards) and the windows all tinted for $700.Also 5 year warranty. Also remember that any film can yellow if not properly maintained for.The installer should explain the care for the clear bra!

If the quality was good and you're satisfied, then I would say you got a rockin' deal on that one.

I just had a bra put on my whole front cap. I would definately recommend doing this rather than half the hood and fenders. If you only do half, the line across the front of your car will be extremely noticeable. Doing the whole hood and fenders is a little more expensive, but you can barely tell there is a bra on the car.

Hate to disagree but... the line is barely visible on mine!Maybe because of my silver paint?Black does tend to show everything!Just sayin...

Clear bra came with mine when I purchased it in 2008. I have it on half of the hood on mine and yes, it is noticeable now. Also I have a bunch of stone chips on the other half where there is no protection. I definitely recommend full coverage on the hood.

I got my whole hood, front bumper, front lights, and front fenders done. It cost me $1,900 and the film is made by avery dennison. I went with that shop because it has the best reputation in town. When I dropped my car off there was a ferrarri 599, panamera turbo, and rolls royce being done.

I do have one small mark on the bra from a rock that hit it. It did its job as there is no damage to the bumper under the mark.

The company that installed mine (clear bra) told me that the paint plays a role in how visible the seam is. I have a half hood and was talking with a fellow Porsche owner (2012 TT) who was railing against clear bras and the how the seams showed. He was a bit embarrassed, and taken aback, when I pointed out the seams on my hood, which are barely visible and don't bother me at all.

another question, can anyone reccommend a reputable installer in the Long Island, NY area. I have someone I can use and I told him I wanted to see a couple of his installations prior to me moving forward. in the meantime I thought maybee someone here can reccommend someone they have used.

Detailing dynamics

Detailing Dynamics... one of the best in the tri state area. I just had mine done 2 weeks ago and it's perfect. These guys are super perfectionists and will even match pricing. I drove down from CT but they're right in Mineola on LI. They're board sponsors so do a search and you'll see a lot of positive feedback.
