Changing Channels

Just found out my car has Sat radio, had no idea. I press the am/fm and it cycled to SAT-A, which is Sirious. Is this an add on to the car? I didn't see anything about sat radio in the manual.

How do I change the channels? The keypad does nothing, I was using the left/right arrows on the keypad but to go up/down 180 channels one by one is ridiculous. There has to be a better way?

Mine has Sirius hardwired as well, and the antenna is located right on top of the center dash speaker. I called Sirius to get it started, and after 30 minutes on the phone with the guy, we still couldn't get it connected, so I gave it up.

Good luck with yours if you want it.

You have to program each number to store the stations you want, then remember which one is which.

if it's the preview station, which could explain why you can't change stations, you only have the capability to get Sirius ( IE.. unit is in the car ) and need to call them to activate it. if the car is new you'll usually get several months free as a new customer before they start charging you .

I am getting it, previous owner must of had the subscription. Issue is changing the channels. The only way I have found to change them is with the arrows on the keypad which is way slow and cumbersome when navigating that many channels.

Your Sat radio might have been operated by a remote switcher, which the prior owner didn't provide to you. My car came with a Kewood sat radio box and a Sirius box under the passengers seat, as well as a little Sirius antenna on the dash and a tiny infrared receiver on the center console - but no remote. While trying to get it to work, I disconnected it and suddenly my AM and FM radio signals improved dramatically. Hmmm... not what I was trying to do, but I liked the results. I eventually gave up on trying to restore the sat radio.

If its anything like my. 2 you need to supply them with the radio code number or something.
You find it in the pcm settings iirc .

Once you're on your free trial you can sort channels by genre etc. To make things easier.

It also works with the nav to give realtime updates to traffic speeds and sig alerts etc.

I've been meaning to hook it up the last couple of weeks but haven't got to it yet.
I think its going to cost me 18 a month

As far as I know, Sat radio was not offered as a factory option on the 997.1. It could only be done with an after market add-on system.
