I find word-of-mouth recommendations for just about anything as the best gauge of quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. People offering a service will tell you anything to make a sale. Your fellow car nuts will usually not steer you wrong. Hope everything works out in your favor.

Thank god I didn't go on the freeway or anything...it would have flown off and done damage to vehicles behind me.

Took it back, they didn't even apologize!!! I'll never go back there again!!!

Was covered under warranty, but would have costed about a $1,000.00 for the parts and labor.
Never happened to me....must've been an exception to the rule......love my dealership! Judging from the tone of your response....maybe it's you!

Yeah, it's me...I loosened the plastic part as I turned the corner from the dealer...then drove home and put it in the back of my 911 and drove back to the dealer, who installed I without even an apology...that's exactly how it went down!

For car stereo work, your best bet is to take it to a place that does really high-end installs on similar cars. For instance, if they're used to doing "pimp my ride" systems on lambos, then a simple HU/amp/speaker upgrade should be a piece of cake for them. A lot of these places had projects featured in the car stereo magazines (back in the day), so that's always a good sign too. The 997 audio system (esp with Bose) is actually not very simple to tap into (i.e. fiberoptic MOST, active EQ, 1ohm speakers), so it's preferable to go to a shop that is very familiar with the 997. Glad it worked out though.

I do most things myself for all the reasons listed in above comments. When I do get work done I do a lot of research as I have usually been very dissapointed with the outcome.
