"Gundo" Muffler swap and Jack stand question
"Gundo" Muffler swap and Jack stand question
I'm about to install my modified "Gundo" mufflers. I purchased them from another 6speed member so I can retain my stock units for later.
Two quick questions:
1.) When I re-install the mufflers, should I use anti-seize on the bolt threads when I put everything back together?
2.) Does anyone think it is not advisable to put a jackstand under the suspension cross-member in the rear for support? I've only got one jack so getting the vehicle up on stands is tough using the factory jack point. (I really need those jackpoint stands)

I recommend using Rhino Ramps instead of jacking up the car since you don't have to remove tires. You can get the ramps for $38 with 15% off at Advanced Auto Parts and I think Walmart also carry them.
There is no need to remove tires to reinstall the mufflers.
It just seems a lot easier to get to the 3 bolts holding the bracket by going at them from the wheel well. I need to swap to my winter wheels anyway so I'm going to kill both projects at the same time.
In either case, does the committee think that anti-seize on the threads is necessary, or just overkill?
