the X51 Powerkit increases output of the 3.8-liter, flat-six cylinder Carrera S engine from 355 to 381 horsepower and peak torque from 295 to 306 ft. lbs., making it the most powerful non-turbocharged engine yet offered in a Porsche 911 production car for North America. Distinguished by its carbon fiber air cleaner housing, the X51 Powerkit boosts performance through a series of engine enhancements including a larger throttle body, optimized intake airflow, cylinder heads and exhaust manifold modifications, changes in the control unit, and the inclusion of a sport exhaust system. The result produces a 0 to 60 mph time of a quick 4.4 seconds and a top track speed of an impressive 186 mph.

Don't know about the pricing on the X51 for the S but last year the price was a little over $18,000.

I think you are thinking of x50 pricing, x51 is cheaper and it should be around 12k or so.

I am wondering what exactly are the exhaust modifications, I thought it just included PSE, but are the headers different as well?

I'm wondering if it will even be possible to get anymore gains out of the x51 in the aftermarket. If the heads are reviesed, the intake, and the exhaust, it seems that the 3.8 liter is pretty much maxed at that point without forced induction.

I saw the 2006 997 S CLUB coupe X51 car up close and personal. Took lots of pictures. Porsche choked the regular 997S car.........the stock headers are horrible..........Porsche put on better headers on the Club coupe (BUT they are virtually REGULAR 2002 to 2004 996 headers that were found on all regular 996 cars). Then Porsche made a very nice airbox system on the Club coupe. Porsche AG had this planned way in advance.

FYI- you will in my opinion easily be able to add another +30HP and save weight with better freeflow exhaust mufflers, muffler bypass pipes (if you like loud), sport cats....... and definetly better headers will be an improvement over 997S club coupe headers any day!

Looking forward to the 2006 GT3.........hopefully 425HP stock.!
have a great day
