Ready to pull trigger...Dectane Rottec
Ready to pull trigger...Dectane Rottec
Guys -- I know this has been discussed a zillion times but I haven't seen a resounding answer to which is better for quality/reliability: Dectane or Rottec
(Yes, I've done searches and read the threads)
Can someone recommend where to buy for decent price and has better quality?

DO NOT buy from RotTec. Their customer service is terrible.
They do not stand behind their product.
One of my rear lights had a few LEDs go after 2 years. The best they would offer me was full retail price plus shipping for a replacement.
I'm taking my business somewhere else.
Do yourself a favor and skip right past Ray and Rottec.

I think the quality and reliability are likely equal between the two. Since they have different appearances, however, I would go with the look which you prefer. I got my Dectane rear LEDs from RevoMS (www.revoms.com) and have had no problems with them. I'm also in Portland, and shipping from RevoMS (Bay Area) was very reasonable.
Does the Rottec need resistors?
Price at Rottec is a little steep?

Thanks for the info! I'm leaning towards the Dectanes but the price is still a little high. I see there are Dectanes on ebay but I'm not sure if they're the same ones from Revoms?
Contact Zack at revoms and he'll steer you in the right direction. I've used his advice a lot and he's been spot on each time. With a little (or a lot) of luck, we'll get some decent driving weather one of these days!
Thanks! I'll contact Zack. What 997S are you driving?

I may be wrong, but I think the front LEDs are all made by the same company.
For me the big selling point about Rottec...or drawback about the Dectane was the pattern of the brake light. I just hate the C shape. Just seems incomplete. The Rottec's DO NOT do this.

I did the same research and decided on Rottec given the full brake light coming on versus the "C" shape. No complaints with the lights and Ray's service was great. I ended up buying the full set, plus the interior and exterior LED lights plus the 6K cool white bulbs.
