Battery disconnect - side effects?

Hi,

just upgraded to a 997.2 from a Boxster.
When I did any electrical work on my Box I always disconnected the battery. It seems that this is also the recommended way in the 997 DIY articles.

However: I recall reading an article in Panorama which advised against disconnecting the battery as the electronics might get screwed up (I recall that the windows no longer worked etc.)

Anyone here has any comments?

Radio presets - easy
Window reset - easy
PSM failure message - goes away almost instantly

Can't remember if I had to redo the seat memory.

Leejai is infamous around these parts
If you have to smog your car any time soon, don't forget that disconnecting the battery resets the "computer readiness" required to pass smog.
