Looking for a good transportation co. to bring car to Socal (OC)

Hi everyone,

I just bought my first p-car today (really excited about that), but I'm in Socal (orange county) and the car is in Louisiana, so I was wondering if someone can recommend me any good transportation company to get some quotes.

Also, what type of truck will you guys recommend? open or enclosed? and if anybody has an idea how much it might cost to do this trip.

Thank you

Intercity did a great job for me and I've heard nothing but good things from others about them.

Had no problems with plycar shipping my car from new york to vegas. The 1st owner of the car I bought is the owner of plycar and he hardly drove it and I got it for a steal.

+1 for jplogistics very good experience w/ them

FWIW... you really want enclosed transport particularly if a cab. And you want guaranteed top deck placement on transport. It's not that much more expensive in the grand scheme of things...

Good luck

If you have to wait, I'd just wait a week unless you can find another good company. And you definitely want an enclosed trailer and on top. First thing you should do is to hose the car down, shampoo, and clay bar it. I've bought and had several cars transported and its always a bit dusty.

Scheduling an auto transport isn't a 'right now' deal unless you want to pay for the entire carrier. They usually plan a route and pick up a few cars that have designations that are within reasonable proximity. My 997S was one of 4 cars being ferried to So Cal when I used InterCity.

ps. For sure go enclosed. Even though they use enclosed carriers Intercity put a 'condom' on the car and depending it's position (lower rack) it has oil/grease catchers. You'll pay more for this kind of service but I think its worth it. They also have GPS Tracking (had to call the dispatcher; not on-line) so you can follow your cars progress.

Intercity. Period.

I've used Intercity at least 7 times over the past few years and had absolutely zero problems. First class, door to door service.

Do not use any kind of broker. They will shop to get you a low price but your car could be loaded and unloaded and put on several different trucks before reaching your location.

The closer we get to January the harder it will be to get a truck. Literally every higher end car transport truck will be filled to capacity headed for Scottsdale AZ......Barrett Jackson Auction.

Another +1. Shipped my 997.2 from Mississippi to SoCal. Smooth process right to my door. They can even arrange GPS tracking.

Don't forget to take pictures when your new ride is off loaded from the carrier. Great for a scrap book or car history.
