Wax/polish question

I just put a coat of Zymol Cleaner Wax on my Seal Gray Metallic 05 C2, looks fantastic. My question is do I need to apply a stronger wax over this for protection since the Zymol seems to be a more of a polish ?

not necessary unless you have you have a lot of salt/sand on the roads. A cleaner wax is a sort of a all in one product made for the masses and is a very mild polish. If you want better results then try the multi step process of cleaning/claying/polishing/sealing. GL

If you want your paint to be protected, I would slap on a coat of SEALANT. Sealant is basically a synthetic wax that lasts longer and protects better.

+1

I tend to polish once or twice a year AND wax-only at least 12x per year.

Zaino is a good product but it is known that it doesn't last as long as the others. I use it myself.

Oops I just read again and I guess I misread: I used Zymol also but I don't know how long it lasts. Haven't used it for a while.

"Real" zymol is pretty high-carnuba wax and shines like crazy. But it doesn't last all that long. I use it, but I put a synthetic sealer on first (zaino or meguiars nxt), then the zymol on top of it. Paint feels like glass after.

The blue-bottle zymol you can get at the auto parts store is a basic cleaner / wax. Its one of the better cleaner/waxes but not the same as the paste zymol. It doesn't last that long, tough.

You can feel when you need a wax, paint doesn't have that glassy feel and water doesn't bead the same. When you see that, wax again. Strip the wax every now and again by washing with dish soap (Dawn is recommended).

For basic maintenace between clay/details the zymol liquid cleaner is fine.
