The sub box is what I would be most interested in. And how long does a typical install take? I like your install pics. I probably would just change different items used. I'm debating between the alpine and kenwood head units. I'm sure the alpine sounds better, but the kenwood has garmin gps which I really feel is the best gps system. Speakers I would more than likely go with rainbow and amps and subs I'm open to recommendations although I do have a few preferences. I like sq and don't need neighborhood shaking bass. Your sub box looks like something that I would definitely put in my car. Not too big and fits in nicely.

I got some used focal k3p's coming, the jbl ms-8, do I still need to use the passive crossovers with the jbl processor?

also, the focal midbass and the midwoofer are both 6.5 so I can't put the midbass and midwoofer Focals in the same door, but I do have a pair of 4" mmats midbass that would fit there. So would I put the focal midwoofer or midbass in the front, or rear? I have the jl 8inch subs in the rear once my subwoofer box comes, so my thought was mmats midbass in the front with the either midwoofer or midbass focal, the midwoofer or midbass focal in the rear, and of course tweeters in the front. I was advised on another forum that with the focals I might want more power than just the jl 600/6, so should I get another 600/6 or a 700/5? Is there any advantage to having a center speaker with this setup?

I ordered the eurospeed bezel with wiring harness, so now it's just the headunit decision. I think I might skip the back up camera as I hate to mess up the rear with a strange object. I'm not a bad parker, and I back up slowly anyway although having a camera would be neat and helpful..

I'm thinking about getting this zapco amp.

http://www.creativecaraudio.com/stor...44&i=290673696

Bridged for 210 watts to power the front components and 350 watts to power a shallow sub.

if you put the cross overs in the kick panel next to the fuse boxes be prepared for engine wind.
I managed to pick up a faint alternator whine with crossovers in the frunk storage bins. Nice installs, btw. I also recommend dynamat (or similar) on the door panels, like in the photos.

I'm curious how the bass is from the dual 6" JL. I have a single 13TW5 back there and it's "just okay."

I think it just comes down to whichever nav interface you like better. I doubt you will hear differences in sound quality. Some of the Kenwood models take a looong time to startup, check youtube for examples. The Pioneer stuff is decent too. If I didn't need the voice-recognition for addresses, I would have gone with the Alpine myself.

Oh boy. I honestly would suggest purchasing a 3-way set that comes with a 3-4" midrange that can fit in the factory locations. Then you can run passives or passive+active with your MS-8. You could theoretically use your focal "midwoofer" + mmats midrange + focal tweeter, and discard the passive xover and focal midrange, and run them active using a 6-channel amp and MS-8. Expect to do a lot of tuning with crossover frequencies and slopes to get those drivers to pair well together.

The 600/6 is 75W per channel. That's plenty. If you double your amplifier power, your sound volume only increases by 3dB. Plus, your speakers are already pretty sensitive (95.5dB at 2.83V).

There isn't a lot of space to put a quality center channel in the stock location. Some people like having a center though. I don't see much benefit, unless you have a passenger and you like your vocals coming from the center of the dash rather than right in front of you.

If your will to drive a few hours out to LA and give me 2 days well work out a fair price.

I would go with the DYN if your a SQ guy and the box. I would kill the rear speakers and Do the Mosconi AS 200.4 to power everything. Kenwood new navs are landing now. DNX890HD we have them in stock.

I wish i had some picture but I did a car for one of our VIP but do to the nature of his business (actor) were asked not to film or photo the car. His Lawyer made us take down our YT video unless we were going to pay to use his car in a video and i have enough Porsche so I really didn't need his.

If you bring the Rainbow i could do the install i have JL Audio HD, Masconi, Alpine PDX amps in stock and Audison.

Email me and lets set something Up. SATURNDRCMEDIA@GMAIL.COM

I will provide a rental while were working on your car and we can work out pick up and delivery.

Options 1200.00 enclosed transportation to and from vegas.

Or Freebie well come pick up and deliver. pick up on sunday delivered on sunday the following week.

GASONGASOFF

Which amp are you running on the 13TW5 and how is it mounted? do you have a PIC?

I recommend for that sub PDXM6 or HD750.1 thoes in my experience hit it right on the money. I would probably not run it of a 5 channel.

JL recommeds RMS 250-500 coumtuinious and even the XD700/5 under powers it a bit.

Shallow Subs lack the depth and warmth in the bass as well as digital class D amps.

The best i ever heard 13T5 sound was off the older 600/1V2 so AB/D hybrid tech which i would recommend highly if you have the room. the new part number is 600/1V3 and the brushed Black finish.

If I can close this deal I'm working on I'll consider driving out there and having everything installed. I like that you are familiar with porsche installs. There isn't much porsche cars here so I doubt the high end place here sees a lot of them. But Jon Webb is a top notch guy in the car audio world. I got a friend I can stay with a few days if I go out there. I do have another project that I want to have done first which is a 5 lug conversion from centerlocks. But I might change my mind and do the car audio upgrade first.

yeah, I didn't realize that both focal mids were 6.5, I thought I was getting the 3way that would fit. My bad on the research, but it was a pretty good deal. I'm hoping the mmats will match well enough.

Most likely I will not use a center channel. When I do have a passenger we tend to talk anyway, and not have the music on for listening as when I drive by myself. For the subwoofers I'm pretty sure my dual 8inch JL's are fine. They sounded nice and deep for me in my old car when it was in the trunk.

I got a custom subwoofer box which holds two 8 inch subwoofers which will be placed where the old subwoofer bose box was. It stands up a couple inches out but hardly noticalble.

del ray, I see you guys put in dynamat in the doors. Is that standard, does it help that much, and if so is it worth any weight increase on the car?

Another question, I am assuming that the bose system had essentially the three way system for the front, but what is in the rear? A two way speaker? A midrange? midbass?

I have a Bose system and want to keep the HU; I have read the posts here on speaker replacement but am confused on a few points:
#1) Can you just replace the speakers alone, or is the resistance too high in the new speakers to sound good?
#2)If option # 1 not possible, can you just add a speaker level amp after the Bose system. I get the feeling that the processing is already done by the amp/HU and you would just be "boosting" the output
thanks
