About five years ago, I purchased a 2006 S. As much as I loved that car, it spent most ofthe time in the garage. It would comeout about twice a month for a spirited ride in the nicer weather in theNortheast. Other than routine maintenanceand keeper her clean, I did not even consider modifications. Fast forward to about six months ago, I boughta second Porsche (996 Cab) as a daily driver. Driving this car every day incented me to learn more about Porsche whichbrought me to 6speedonline (I learned an awful lot from the good folks on this forum). Here I also caught the modification bug… After spending too much time and money modifyingthat car, I turned my attention to the 997…

Attached are some pictures of what she looks like after the performancework was completed by AWE Tuning (lowering her, installing a new exhaust,flashing her software, putting in race pedals, and a new set of HRE wheels). Cosmetically, I added the clear side markersand the new tail lights. I also modifiedthe front end with the GT3 smile and mesh in front of the radiators.

The guys at AWE (Mike and Will) were awesome to work with (theydid all the performance work including the HRE Wheels). Bill at Distinctive Auto Works handled thefront end cosmetics and did a spectacular job.

Now I can’t wait for the for the first nice day of spring!

socialpro - long story: hour commute into Philly everyday, did not want all the wear and tear on the 997 - plus parking security risks... went to buy a car for my son recently and saw 996 on the lot - on the spot traded my daily driver for the 996... wanted the 911 experience every day with a car that I was not overly worried about.. turned out to be a great decision
