PCM/CD Player Question

I've noticed lately that each time I open the door to get into my car the CD player makes a quick mechanical type of noise as if its loading a CD. Is this normal?

I've owned the car for 6 years and can't remember if it's done this the whole time or not. LOL

Thanks...

Peter

My 2007 C2S does the same thing. I've had the cd changer disconnected in order to have a feed for the iPod integration kit. I'm also wondering why it makes an almost reset type of sound. +1 on this thread.

Mine does it right after I get the error message that says CD changer not connected. I think my NavTV was connected and the installer didn't loop out the CD changer connection. Thinking of pulling the changer out completely and then adding the fiber optic loop cable from BumperPlugs. I should gain trunk space and possibly eliminate the error.

YEs it is normal, it is part of the boot up process, it checks for a cd, and it move the laser to the "last known state".
