Hi, anyone out there know how to access the rear emergency release cable on a 997 model Carrera S? I know it runs thru the left taillight and then comes down again thru a little hole back to somewhere between the rear bumper and frame of the car but I have no idea how to get to it without breaking the rear bumper. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks. I know where the cable is located and have seen a similar picture. The problem is how to reach it when the bumper is on and the trunk is closed. What i need to know is how to pull it thru a hole or something like that. How to reach it...

 

I'll be interested too...i've seen my cable when I swapped taillights but I never understood how to access it since I don't think you can remove the taillights with the lid closed.

 

My guess is dealer will do it for free then sell you the parts needed to correct the original problem.
