Sorry for the dumb question (i'm relatively new to 6speed), but how can I give rep to someone.

 

On the Top right of their thread, that Star Ribbon looking thing.

 

Maybe the site should only allow Positive rep points ? That would keep the juveniles input out. If I find a post helpful, I may give a positive rep and if I don t like what is posted, I move on. I have also got a Neg from someone who didn t even own a Porsche just visiting over from another part of 6 speed... (A site mod corrected it for me anyway, and I got my free toaster, LOL).

 

Honestly, until this thread I didn't even know that "rep points" existed. Now that I know, I can honestly say that I still don't care. In my opinion, it serves no constructive purpose. Is it a ranking by which the moderators determine punitive actions against negative and aggressive members? Or is it just a high school popularity contest?

 

Dont feel bad i lost all my rep points today- Who cares, still like the site, some people are 2 serious, life is short have fun and learn somthing when you can. Just dont have any miss spellings!! You have to be a Spelling Bee champion to participate on this site.

once a member here posted a thread asking for opinions about a particular accessory. I was the first one to say that it wasn't my style (very politely)
Then I got a negative rep. Go figure. There are many sites (Porsche sites) that do not use this "system" and they're doing just fine.

 

At the risk of jeapardizing my points, I can't believe that A) this thread is now four pages long and B) I am contributing to it.

And while we are on the subject of rep points and other do-dads, what do the little green boxes mean? I have been on here for two plus years and I can't figure those darn things out.

 

People here seem very nice. Rennlist took my money then banned me for posting in a thread about the existence of God. There might have been some hurty feelings too.

 

Oh man how I wish I never clicked into this thread or spent the last 7 minuets reading up.
