Opinions - Black car with Guards Red Center Console?

What are your thoughts on this or maybe even silver? Would the contrast be too much?

Also, considering making this a DIY project, what is the best paint to use? Should I start with a primer too?

Thanks in advance!

I think it might look better (guards red console) if you also had red dials and maybe red stitching. Not sure the red console by itself would look good, but have to admit, I have never seen it on a black car.

Could be sharp but I suggest you don't do it unless you see some pics or a similar car in person. Doesn't have to be a 997.

I just painted my center console guards red and I used automotivetouchup.com. Their paint match was spot on. I used the primer, base coast, then a clear coat turned out really good. Not sure how it will look with an all black car. My car is guards red and I also have deviated red seat belts and red faced gauges. I was going to go with silver to match all the other silver trim but decided to try red to match the exterior.

Looks great but only if the car is red. Need red belts (f+r) to go with it to balance it out. Pic is of my first 997 before I took delivery.

I agree you should have Red Seat belts or gauges as well. I am debating the same thing, I have a White C2S with Red Belts and Gauges, I was deciding between White, Red, or GT Silver.
